Psychiatrist

Swapna Vaidya, MD

Dr. Vaidya is a board-certified adult psychiatrist with fellowship training in Psychosomatic Medicine. She currently serves as the Lead Psychiatrist at Options MD and treats patients in New York. 

She has practiced as a psychiatrist for more than 20 years. She is passionate about women’s health, collaborative care psychiatry and using cutting-edge health technologies to help patients with treatment resistant mental health conditions.  

In her career as a psychiatrist, Dr. Vaidya has served as the Fellowship Director for Consult Liaison Psychiatry at the Icahn School of Medicine (ICSOM) as well as the Director of Transplant Psychiatry at ICSOM. She has also previously held positions as the Clinical Operations Chief at Kaiser Permanente in WA and a Physician Executive at MultiCare Behavioral health hospital. Prior to joining Options MD, she served as a Collaborative Care Psychiatrist at Crossover, providing care to Microsoft employees.

In addition to treating patients at Options MD, she currently serves as an Advisory Board Member for Gennev, a leading telehealth company dedicated to providing specialized care for menopausal women and a Physician Ambassador for Solve Care.

Jessica Balmir, LMFT

Jessica is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and serves as a Lead Therapist at Options MD. She has been working in the mental health field since 2012, and has held several clinical and leadership roles in residential and outpatient settings, mobile crisis, respite and peer services. She specializes in working with clients struggling with depression, anxiety, grief/loss, and difficulty with past trauma. Jessica has experience working with individuals dealing with a wide range of challenges including family, relationship, and parenting issues, life cycle changes and transitions, personal growth, adjustment, and crisis. Her approach integrates several evidence based modalities, including solution-focused, cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic and psychoeducational therapies.

April Sexton, LMHC

April is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of New York and a Lead Therapist at Options MD. She received her Masters of Art in Counseling and Community Psychology from SAGE Colleges of Albany.  April has experience with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, Behavioral Activation, Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Existential Therapy and Trauma Informed Care.  She has a person centered and strengths based approach and believes that building a safe and supportive space leads to empowerment and healing within the client.  April is passionate about supporting others through their journey and helping others discover that they have powerful tools to heal within themselves.  In her spare time, she enjoys meditation, reading, bicycling and traveling.

Rona Klein, MD

Rona Klein, MD is a Harvard University-trained, board-certified adult psychiatrist with many years of experience in helping people heal and grow. She has held several academic, teaching and leadership positions and received numerous awards. Dr. Klein has over 10 years of experience in Community Residential Psychiatry having served as the Division Director for McLean’s residential and partial hospitalization programs; 12 years of experience in College Mental Health as the Co-Director for Wellesley College’s Counseling Service and 15 years of experience treating victims of violence through the Cambridge Health Alliance. Dr. Klein is a pioneer in the field of Women’s Psychiatry and contributed immensely to the field through her work as the Founder and Executive Director of the Women’s Supported Housing and Empowerment, Inc as well as teaching, research and publications on topics including women’s developmental issues across the lifecycle, women and suicide and gender-identity. 

Dr. Klein’s clinical specialization is in working with individuals who have had childhood and/or adult traumatic experiences as well as those with depression and bipolar disorder. 

Frank Copeli, MD

Dr. Frank Copeli was born and raised in Queens, New York. Frank received his M.D. from the State University of New York Downstate College of Medicine. Frank serves as an Assistant Editor for the Harvard Review of Psychiatry. He was previously the Geriatric Psychiatry Co-Chief Resident at McLean Hospital, and a 2021 American Association of Geriatric Psychiatry Scholar. He has published research in ECT, ketamine and the treatment of older adults with schizophrenia. He currently serves as Medical Director for Power of Recovery in Revere, Massachusetts. He is passionate about caring for patients with treatment resistant depression. Dr. Copeli emphasizes collaborative care with patients to find a targeted treatment approach that emphasizes your well-being and physical health.

Cece Rubin, LICSW

Cece Rubin is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) with over 16 years of experience. She provides psychotherapy to clients at Options MD in Massachusetts. She specializes in crisis intervention and treating patients with a wide range of issues including depression, trauma and bipolar disorder. Her approach focuses on helping individuals strengthen their relationship with themselves and become effective in self-realization, while negotiating and balancing their needs and the needs of others. She offers a safe, confidential, proactive therapeutic relationship that is goal focused.

Tiffany Arnold, MD

Dr. Arnold is a board-certified adult psychiatrist and currently treats patients in California through Options MD. 

She completed her medical school training and psychiatry residency at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport where she also served as the Chief Resident. 

Dr. Arnold has completed fellowship training in Addiction and Public Psychiatry at UCSF.  She has won several awards including the Gold Humanism Honor Society Award. She is passionate about treating patients with treatment resistant depression, bipolar disorder and trauma.

Joshua Cohen, MD, PhD

Dr. Cohen is an adult psychiatrist, serves as Head of Data Science at Options MD, and is a part-time Volunteer Clinical Professor at the University of California San Francisco. He has extensive experience with treatment-resistant depression, as well as conducting research on new treatment strategies.

As Option MD's Head of Data Science, Dr. Cohen is developing patient assessment tools to more accurately diagnose patients, predict side effects, identify personalized treatment plans for patients, and track symptoms and recovery over time.

Before joining Options MD, Dr. Cohen was on faculty at the University of California San Francisco where he saw patients in their Specialty Depression and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation Clinics. He also conducted clinical trials testing novel neuromodulation technologies for the treatment of depression.

Dr. Cohen completed his General Psychiatry Residency Training at the University of California San Francisco and served as Chief Resident for Research.

Dr. Cohen has a great deal of experience using a wide variety of psychopharmacological, behavioral, and interventional approaches, including the most cutting-edge treatments for depression, such as Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation and Ketamine. At Options MD, his approach to care is collaborative and he aims to be a partner on your journey to relief and mental well-being. He works with patients to help identify root causes of mental distress and provide treatment that addresses these root causes directly
