FAQs

Can I still make an appointment if I don't have one of the insurance carriers that you accept?

Yes, you can still make an appointment if we are out-of-network with your insurance or if you do not have insurance. You will be responsible for paying the full price of your appointment.

How does payment work, and what are my payment options?

We’ll take your payment information or your insurance information when you book your first appointment. You’ll be billed shortly after scheduling, and it may take 1-2 business days for the charge to show up on your statement.

We accept insurance in the states of New York and Massachusetts. We also accept all major credit and debit cards for individuals without insurance or if you have a deductible or co-payment to meet before your insurance provider will cover your full bill.

What if I do not have insurance or do not want to pay with insurance?

If you do not have insurance, or you do not want to pay with insurance, you always have the option of paying out-of-pocket instead. We will directly bill you for your treatment.

What is your cancellation policy for appointments?

We offer a full refund if canceled before 24 hours. A charge of $50 for a late cancellation fee is made if canceled within 24 hours. No-shows will be charged the full price of the appointment.

Are you an in-network provider for any health insurers?

Options MD currently is an in-network provider in the states of New York and Massachusetts from the following health insurance companies::

Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, United, Cigna, Oscar, and Oxford.

Don’t see your provider on the list? Ask us, as we are always working to partner with new insurance providers.

How do I get reimbursement as an out-of-network patient?

Some insurance plans offer out-of-network coverage for telehealth, including virtual psychiatry and therapy sessions. To verify your coverage, reach out to your insurance company.

Insurance companies typically require that their members submit superbills to be reimbursed. Please request a superbill by emailing suppport@optionsmd.com.

Unfortunately, Options MD cannot submit your superbill on your behalf. We will provide you with your superbill via email, and you will need to upload it to your health insurance reimbursement portal.

How do I get a superbill?

All you have to do is let the staff at Options MD know that you need a superbill. We will be happy to provide you with a superbill you can submit to your insurance company. A superbill can help you get reimbursed for paying out-of-pocket for medical care with an out-of-network provider.
